Q: My Flight Instrument Panel causes a blue screen crash when it is plugged in.

This is potential issue with Intel based motherboards, whereby FIP users may encounter blue screen crashed when their screen is connected to their PC. A driver called elhid.sys (a windows file) is being loaded onto your device when it is plugged in. This is what is causing the blue screen. So this fix should resolve the issue.

First of all, click start, select 'run' and type regedit, then click ok.

This will load up a folder system, similar to Windows Explorer.

On the left hand side you will see a list of folders. Click the + next to the folder in order.

+ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
    +SYSTEM
       +CurrentControlSet
          +Control
             +Class

The left click once the folder in Class called {745A17A0-74D3-11D0-B6FE-00A0C90F57DA}

The right hand portion of the screen will now display a list of Names that also includes a Type and Data column.

In the name column there will entries called 'UpperFilters' and 'LowerFilters'.

Right click these two entries and rename them to anything other than what they are now. When they are changed, close.
